Hello ladies!

I'm a newbie and I have a question for light yaki owners:

Do you use a flat iron on it? When I look at some pics  (by most if not all CV's) I can see crimps and I wonder if they need to be straightened out. Some of the ladies use flat iron some don't (I have pm'ed a few pple).

I really want a NO CRIMPS look but as a black girl I am afraid silky straight will look stange (although I look good in straightned indian bodywaves).

Should I get light yaki or silky straight? I do not want to use heat and I do not want crimps..

Thanks for your suggestions ladies.

Lily

there should be no need to a flat iron on a light yaki there should be absolutely no crimps in it.. its pretty much like a freshly permed AA hair, and more silky than regular yaki.. i've only got two and they are by kevincn and the indian light yaki is more silky than the chinese light yaki but neither have crimps..

Lilypod,

The chinese light yaki I got from Rex (stock) had absolutely NO CRIMPS.  It never even saw a flat iron.  I would wash it and let it dry then apply it.  I used hot rollers to make curls.

I have a Lite Yaki IR and the only reason I flat iron is when I wan't a slight bump to the ends.....but because the way I have it cut I really don't have to....I wrap it everynight there after and I never put heat to it again...the entire time I wear it.

I have a Chinese Remy Light Yaki and an Indian Remy Medium Yaki from Holly and neither one of them have crimps in them. Even though 1 unit is a light yaki and 1 unit is a medium yaki the texture is nearly exact because the Chinese Remy hair shaft is so much thicker that the Indian Remy hair shaft. Neither one of them needs to be flat ironed to look straight though. HTH

My Holly light yaki had slight crimps in them, but they look natural to me. But after I washed it, they disappeared for the most part. I have to flat iron my hair, because whoever's head it came off of must of had some black in them, cuz every single time I step outside my hair goes from straight to wavy! Every single last freakin time! SO, I'm thinking that's something that happens with some LY's but it is very annoying!
But atleast I don't have to curl with a curling iron when I want to curl it.

I have a light yaki from Rex, no crimps to be seen.  I do use my Chi to bump the ends on occassion.
