I have posted before asking how to get rid of the orange color that comes out on my roots when I dye my hair using Ion Color Brilliance in High Lift Ash Blonde with a 30 vol. developer. I have also tried using a toner but it didn't do too much. I like my hair color I just wish my roots would be more like the rest. I want to get as close to platinum as I can get. Please help. :(

It looks like your virgin hair colour is at least a level 2 or 3, meaning to lift your roots that much you will need bleach. I'm not suprised the high lift didn't lift enough, especially with only 30 vol developer.
Apply bleach with 20 vol developer to roots for 55 minutes. If at that time it isn't the colour of the inside of a banana, apply again and keep and eye on it. After this, tone. The best I've come across is Colour Touch by Wella in pearl ash blonde.

thank you! do you have any recommendation for the brand of bleach I should use? Also, will this cause my hair to fall out?

If you can, use professional bleach. My favourite is Levitation by Redken. It won't make your hair fall out, just don't apply the bleach to the platinum hair, only the dark and orange bits.
