I have fine thin hair and I read your article on fine hair cuts. But the advice is always the same. Use the hair on top of your head to either get height or smooth it flat. My problem is that my hair is fine and thin on top and fine and dense in the back. If I cut the back really short there isn't enought hair on top to do anything with. If I try height, my scalp shows. The smooth and flat doesn't work because my hair will naturally part at the center unless I use alot of styling product which makes it look greasy. Do you have any suggestions on a cut that would work for me? I am so tired of the layered bob.
Thanks

Your styling products shouldn't make it look greasy. Try using a little gel, let it dry, then brush it out, then get your hair how you want it to stay, then use hairspray to hold it in place. Hold the spray a foot from your head and use a light coat, then don't touch or move the hair until its dry. Recoat with spray if necessary for more hold. This leads to hard hair that doesn't move, but it will look dry, not greasy.
Its hard to imagine exactly what your hair looks like without pictures, so I don't know what to say for a cut.
