Hi all...
I`ve been lurking for a few days and thought I`d introduce myself: I`m Kate. I live up here in Canada. Mother of 5, recently returned to school to finally get my hair license.
I`m really enjoying all the "hair" talk here!
Am looking forward to getting to know all of you better.

Beautiful Kate, Mother of 5! Fantastic! And you want to be a beautician too! Also fantastic! You are at the right place dear Kate! I am a father of two teenage girls with a child on the way with my pregnant wife! I run my own small business, a taxicab service! If you are into hairstyles, from ultra-short to ultra-long to everything in between you are at the right place! And let us know your hairstyle preferences or interests! Don`t be shy,we all have our own preferences in hairstyles, some more conventional than others,( but all good), as you have noticed if you are reading these threads! Sincerely, Johan

Just got home from a hair show... WOWEEE! I`m pumped!
I love the new styles they are doing.
I especially love what`s coming up in spring for colour -- a change from traditional foils that go across the top of the head and down the sides...
They are doing a vibrant base colour for the back of the head, and a lighter tone "triangular" shape at the front, from the forehead to the crown (I hope I`m making myself clear.) When the top layer is done correctly, it looks PHENOMENAL with the lighter shade laying on top of the darker across the back. It is so great!!!
I also like the move to larger "banana sections" of high-lighting, as opposed to the slicing and weaving that has become so common place.
Anyhoo...
My preferences: I just love vibrant reds and plums.
I LOVE extremely texturized short and medium length cuts on women. Real messy. Real low maintenance.
I`m NUTS about cornrows and braiding. I just won the competition at school last Friday for my version of a rope braid up-do.
Thanks for the welcome!
~~Kate

Hi People !! Hi Kate! I too have just found this site and enjoy it very much. I`ve been doing make-up for awhile and went back to school for my Cos license. I just completed my 1500 hours(although i have already been working as an assistant for about a year) in October and still nervously waiting for my test date. Hope to get to know everyone soon!!
