I have thick, dark hair much like the models hair in the link below. I want to grow my hair long to obtain the look in the link below but am unsure about what product to use.

I've tried many things but nothing seems to work. When I use a product, I must add alot of product to get the hold but this tends then to make it greasy.
 
I'm looking for a product to give hold, shine whilst not making my hair look greasy. Any suggestions?
