The Univision newsbabes and their gorgeous hair don't get enough attention here. Karla Martinez, who has the longest hair on morning TV, showed up for work today on "Despierta America" with very dark, even black, hair. This is surprising as I thought she was pregnant and there are stories about dying your hair when you're pregnant and such. Of course, I can only understand a few of the words she's saying, so maybe she's not pregnant, just dressing like she is.
Here's what she looked like before the dye job, only she had recently gone to bangs, which, coincidentally, is what she did the last time she was preggers.

I'm certain the new color is closer to her natural color, but it was so surprising to see the change. Her new color is even darker than this:

Getting tag teamed is kind of a drag, but I'll respond since you asked.
Just by being on this site, a lot of people would think we all have a little too much time on our hands, don't you think? That being said, I look at a couple celebrity sites daily. However, since I'm in the news business, I'm often up early to watch CNN, Headline News, Fox News and local Detroit news channels, which offer a local Fox station, the Today Show and Good Morning America. I'm constantly clicking around the dial. And sometimes I wind up on Univision, the Spanish-speaking channel. That's where I've seen Karla Martinez, Barbara Bermudo and my personal favorite Lourdes Stephen. Karla actually has an annoying cough, so I suspect she smokes, which is a total turnoff for me. Some people watch the TV commercials in between the news stories;I occasionally watch beautiful Latin American women talking about the news of the day. | That explains a lot. It is normal (well normal for us with too much time on our hands!) to comment on the hair we come across. As you are in the newsbusiness, it is natural for you to see the Univision babes as celebrities, where I would never come across them. |

It's been five years since Karla Martinez was a topic here. Today, this photo was posted on the Despierta America Facebook page. Karla appears to have had her hair hacked. I don't have Univision at home any more, but I'm on vacation in Arizona and just turned on the show to confirm the news. Not sure when the cut took place. I used to chat with Hal quite a bit back in the day. He found himself a gorgeous girl with rockin short flippy blonde hair that was his fave and abandoned us! His new wife is on facebook, but he is not. I wouldn't dare contact her to try to get ahold of him, i'm sure that'd be a hard one to explain. Thank you for the update. Too bad she went short. I have to ask how long was her hair before the cut. 12" is the min for LOL right?. Plus dye hair is not taken in. So she got it cut for nothing. Just saying. I'm watching Despierta America as I type this. Karla is constantly swooshing, pushing or flipping the hair out of her eyes and face. I agree she's a beautiful woman, but that's got to be as annoying to her as it is to watch. Yeah, more hair for the Locks of Love warehouse. Yay. ------------- Who has more fun than people? |

Maybe after Locks of Love SELLS her hair in a bundled sale (Yes, they do this!), one of her Spanish TV competitors might be seen wearing it.  Just a thought..... |
