Hey everyone. I just joined this forum and I'm really excited about it.
To make a long story short(er), I am looking to get extensions very soon. I've looked at a billion places and researched a LOT, as much as I could really in the past few months on the different types. They still seem endless.

Can anyone who knows give me information about any/a few/all of these methods, including price?

I think that my hair is in the early parts of female pattern baldness, though I cannot be sure. I have an appointment for a consultation at a place that will do the scalp analysis thing for free on June 14. I'm not sure yet if I'm keeping the appointment for that day, though.
Anyway, my hair is fine and thin and really always has been. My scalp is also VERY oily, but I condition the ends a lot which can get dry, and it works well. I have naturally wavy hair and I actually like it a lot, I just wish it were about twice as thick and could grow past the plateau it always hits (which is around bra strap length and it'll usually look horrible by then).

I have seen good things about Micropoint Links with cyberhair and I am scheduling several consultations for places that have them. however, it was very difficult for me to get an estimate out of them for a price. Could anyone give me a ball park range? I am looking for length as well as volume, and if you need a picture of me to determine, I'd be happy to provide that.

I'd like some information and reviews if any of you know about and/or have tried the: Cinderella Hair Extensions, New Concepts Hair Extensions, and Secret Strands.

Also, some recommendations for what would not be good for my hair, or if there's any others that WOULD be good, would be very helpful!

In addition to that, if anyone knows of any good places that are around the Morgantown, WV area that'd be great. I live in Jersey but I'll be in school around there, so I'd prefer to go there.

Sorry for making this so long, and thank you for any help!

Hi- can you post some pics? its really hard to give any feedback without seeing your hair (texture/type/ color/ thickness/length) and what you want?

Each method you described is best suited for certain hair types/issues.

Okay no problem, I will have to wait a few days for that though because I won't have access to my digital camera+my laptop until Sunday.

If you have a hair loss problem, hair extensions may not be the solution for you, depending the the severity of the hair loss and if it is an ongoing process for you.  A hairpiece may be a better option.

If you do have a hair loss problem such as female pattern baldness, wearing anytype of extension may accelerate that fall out of your hair do to the tension put on your fragile hair.

Micropoint links are great, but I'm not sure of the pricing.   It's probably around the same price as other strand by strand applications.   You know Cyberhair is a  high quality synthetic thermofibre, not human hair.

Cinderella Hair is just regular fusion. I think it's ok, but I heard that the hair quality is just so-so.  I think  their bonds are big too, so that may be hard to disguise in thin hair.

New Concepts is hairpiece company, not really a 'type' of extensions.  I order from them all the time.  For hair extensions, they carry the seamless wefts (a.k.a. skin wefts) and the Mega Hair (fusion).

Secret Strands I believe are a brand of I-Tip hair that Sally's Beauty Suppply carries.  I'd stay away from any hair that Sally's carries, it's bad quality.

Good luck!
