I've been trying for hours trying to get this hair applied but it just aint working!  I first tried the For Girls Like Us adhesive cream, one thin layer let dry about 5 mins then put a second layer and let dry like 3 mins and when I started pushing the lace down w/ the comb it got all white and gummed up so I removed all traces and tried a second time with Supertape and Blue Liner.  I applied the tape to the wig perimeter then I applied tape across my forehead and put the wig on.  OMG it was horrible.  A thick tape wad just starring me in the face like here I am.  Somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong.  I'm not hair challenged but I just cant seem to get this Lace thing down.

I watched Ms. Lola's vids and corrected my errors.  The problem I'm still having is that the tape won't stick to my skin at all (yes, I prepped my skin first) and the lace wont stay down w/the cream adhesive.  Any help would be appreciated. Tks

I am having the same problems too. I'm using invisibond, endura Bond and supertape. I had a horrendous time yesterday, but after my 3rd attempt, it looked presentable, except my left and right back edges were too hard from the endura bond. My front hairline was slamming... that was yesterday.
Today, I thought I'd start over, and I've been at it since 11am. I removed the unit, prepped everything and now I'm attempting to reattach. Yesterday, my left side was acting crazy, now my right side is acting stank. The left side looks so natural that I'm trying to just do the right side over. I removed everything (including some skin (thanks EB) and started layering again. Skin shield, 2 layers of invisibond (15 minutes in between) and small pieces of supertape between the temple and the ear (but no EB on the right/left back edges of the nape). I think I've turned my lovely wig into a beater... live and learn. At least I'm not as afraid to handle the unit anymore. I'm still going to make this sucka work. I felt tears earlier, but my determination chased them away. I got a glimpse last night of how good it's going to be so I forge ahead...

I watched Ms Lola's video yesterday because her voice is so soothing.

We will conquer this!

Kdee: When you say you prepped your skin I'm assuming that you cleaned your perimeter with an alcohol soaked cotton ball  then put on a layer or 2 of skin protector. The tapes you previously mentioned are both good tapes.

Therefore, I would try the following:

1. Make sure the house isn't too hot and that your skin isn't moist with perspiration while you're trying to do the app.   If you don't have AC do the app in front of a fan to make sure your skin is nice and dry during the process.
2. Try doing a tape only app w/o the cream adhesive.
3. If the weather is really hot where you are, put on more skin protector than you normally would to stop the oils in your skin from breakind down the bond too fast.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.....if you're having a problem with your tape showing through your lace you can:

1. Lessen the shine of the tape by using a small concealer brush to put a little loose make-up powder like Bare Minerals on it. Other loose powders work well too. That's just the one I use on my face.
2. Do any 1 of the part tricks in the area of the unit that is exposing the edge of the tape.

Since my last post above, it's taken me me 6 apps to "get it". My last app (#5) was so good that my new ex-boyfriend wouldn't believe that it wasn't my hair. He said he when he put his arm around my shoulder when we were watching fireworks, he ran his hands through it and when his hand didn't get tangled, he knew it was mine! That made me feel like all the hassle and hard work was worth it. Now I'm dealing with trying to find an adhesive that won't melt at the first sign of heat.
Right now, the score is:
the water based ones = 1
the silicones = 0
with EB refereeing!
