My hair is dark brown and for about 2 years now I have been box dying it black wich I do like but since it is summer I need a change. I want something not too drastic but a definate change. I was thinking leaving the the bottom black and coloring the top a diff color and even maybe adding highlights?? please I need suggestions thanks so much!
ps oh yea i have an olive skin tone and dark brown eyes if that helps

Hello, I would definitely go with highlights if you want a subtle change. Keep in mind though, your hair has been dyed black over and over again and will be difficult to lift. Get a good strong bleach (Clairol's BW would be perfect) to cut through that colour. Do protein treatments on your hair after to keep it in shape. I would bleach (in foils) until you see orange/yellow and then rinse. After, get a deposit-only colour (semi or demi) in a level 6 or 7 neutral/natural colour and apply to your whole head. It will give you subtle highlights without the skunk look!  ------------- Love clip-ins and tape! |
