As my roots (dirty blonde) were coming through I decided to just dye my hair dark blonde. I remember applying lots of dye to my fringe to [haha] ensure the colour was even there.. I must've left the dye on too long, as ass over my hair was very dark, particularly the fringe which is one/two shades darker than the rest.
I've used head and shoulders to strip some of the colour - I know this is bad but my hairs in reasonable condition and it has worked quite nicely, however the fringe is still darker.
How do I fox this? Do I dye just the fringe? Do you need to bleach medium brown to get to dark blonde? And how can I ensure this never happens again?

Hey Charl! OK, so you are dying your natural dirty blonde hair darker? or lighter? I'm guessing dark blonde is darker?! I sound so confused.
Depending on what you used to dye it, you could try something like 'Color Zap' to remove the colour completely. However, it sounds like the head & Shoulders is working! Dawn dishwashing soap mixed with some baking soda will also help fade it fast. If you like the rest of your colour, I wouldn't go to drastic on the colour removal. You may have more trouble of your hands!
If your hair is 'medium brown' and you want to get to 'dark blonde,' honestly, you would have to bleach. I know it doesn't make any sense, but dark blonde is ashy. To go lighter AND ashy is difficult with colour. You would need to bleach to level 9 and then tone/colour back down to a Level 7. HTH! ------------- Love clip-ins and tape! |

| How do I know what a level 9 is? I'm relying on drugstore bleach/hairdye. There aren't any decent health/beauty shops I can get stuff from. |
