Great lengths
RUINED my hair. Granted, I wore them for about 3-4 years, but lets just
say I had little hair left and I took a 2 year break to grow my hair
back out. I would never use that method again, and believe me, I
followed every single instruction on washing, search_results_posts.asp?SearchID=20080620174033&KW=Great+Lengths# - sleeping , brushing..you name it. For very fine hair like mine, there are certainly better/safer methods, IMO.

What is your opinion about this technique, they are suppose to be the
#1 Hair extension company, are they living up to the name in your
opinion? ARe there any African American women that used this company

Best Shampoo/Conditioner for micro ring

Hi! I am new to the forum, but NOT new to hair extensions. I've worn them for years and had Great Lengths
and fusion for about 5 years. I am coming off a 2.5 year 'break' from
extensions, hoping my hair would grow out naturally. *sigh* I'm about
to embark on DIY micro ring extensions.
My question is, (and I am sorry if this has already been asked a zillion times, I couldnt find much on my search)
What is the best, reasonably priced, search_results_posts.asp?SearchID=20080620174033&KW=Great+Lengths# - shampoo and conditioner for the micro...

I've had hair inte greation
for 3 years and my own hair is very long and very thin but it has
grown. I lost a lot of hair in the crown area due to constant
tightenings but that's the price I paid for starting with JA
Alternatives here in NY and then Don Cosa Images. The damage was done
by then. I have a full integration unit on a matrix (net like unit) and
go for tightenings now every 4 weeks. I can go to 8 weeks but the
technician has more work as it is very loose. I know how to handle... forum_posts.asp?TID=61320&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=486918#486918">

First of all.... I ordered 8 oz of Bohyme from Ebonyline.com and I HATE it. I had Great Lengths
4 consecutive times and loved the hair. After reading up on Bohyme here
and hearing all the rave reviews I figured it would be close to the
quality I had with Great Lengths....not
even CLOSE. I applied 4 oz of the Bohyme to my hair via fusion with
Keratin chips from yourhairshop.com aka "Tease Salon". The shipping
from Ebonyline was ridiculously slow and the shipping from

It really depends on a few factors. The type of hair extension you are
getting, the condition/strength of your hair currently, the maintenance
(or lack there of), how long you leave them in for, how well you care
for them, etc...We can tell you personal experiences and offer advice.
What type of extension are you getting? I assume fusion but does it
have a name like Great Lengths? That might help a little more.

I have been wearing extensions for about 8 years. For the last 2 years I have been wearing Great Lengths
and my hair has not grown at all because of all the breakage. In fact,
it's a lot shorter and thinner. In the past I have tried a different
fusion type which looked bad because they were much thicker pieces than
the G.L. I don't want to go that route either. I have also tried the
wefts and that is the only time my hair grew. I need to find someone to
switch me over to that again. My... forum_posts.asp?TID=61105&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=485276#485276">

I have been doing searches on extension methods and stylists and came
across an interesting site. www.mlhh.org A guy posted that he has Great Lengths extensions and he posted a picture. His hair looks great,
a little to feminine for me but he has the long hair that he wanted. A
lot of the guys are criticizing him. I don't get it coming from a bunch
of long haired guys. I think they could use some feedback from the
ladies and men on this site. They need some education. Go get 'em. Tom forum_posts.asp?TID=60922&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=484200#484200">

Tom, Speaking from personal experience, stay away from Great Lengths!
They tell you it is keratin (a protien yor hair already has) but it is
still mixed with glue. I am still trying to get my healthy hair back
from a fusion experience 9 months ago. I wish I would have done the
research/read the forum before I did it. forum_posts.asp?TID=60838&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=484074#484074">

Well I just spoke to her and she said the sew ins are always coming loose. I asked her which type she does and she said Great Lengths
and 1 other type with a bond. Some expert. I think she said sew ins get
loose because she does not do them. I think I will skip her offer and
go elsewhere. Some of the stylists on this site should get together and
open an extensions only salon with all the different types. This way a
customer could get the best for their hair type. I would travel to get
it done... forum_posts.asp?TID=60838&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=483748#483748">

I agree with MintMocha. Great Lengths
is a good product with decent hair, but the real determination if one
gets damage or not is the expertise the the person applying them and
also taking them out, and of course the care the client gives to them
too. Extensions should not be left in for longer than 12 weeks or else
damage can occur. I think the clip in hair is a great way to grow out your hair. I've worn all sorts of extensions over the years, but I always go back to the clip ins because...

I personally looooved Great Lengths.
I go back and forth between highlights and lowlights and took very good
care of the hair (Terrax Crema, Biosilk before I flatiron, etc). When
the extensions came out it was a bit of a shock because I was used to a
really thick pony tail and healthy looking strands with no spilt ends
(think Faith Hills hair - circa 2000) but that is the reason I paid for
INDIAN hair - it is stronger than my fine hair. After a good trim I my
hair lookednice and healthyagain. I'm... forum_posts.asp?TID=60807&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=483324#483324">

Hi! I am a hairstylistwho works in a salon that does Great Lengths.
We do lots of extensions and the owner has been doing them for many
years. I've been wanting to get them, but can't yet because my hair is
too short. I've removed extensions on clients who take fantastic care
of them, and their hair doesn't seem damaged at all, and clients who
aren't gentle with them and their hair looks like crap. It also seems
like the clients who also bleach their hair or get highlights... forum_posts.asp?TID=60807&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=483318#483318">

Recently I have been thinking of search_results_posts.asp?SearchID=20080620174033&KW=Great+Lengths# - purchasing
a full lacewig, you have to check out HB lacewig forum, it is just
incredible!! Check out the install pics, you're gonna blown away by how
invisible most of these units are! Anyway, I am thinking of using some of my Bohyme hair but
I will have a little issue if I want to use it for a lacewig. The
colors I use are great for extensions (blending with my own hair) but it will be a little too golden if I need to apply this hair on my scalp....

Supply and buy the ingredients I would be so grateful! I don't really
trust other people with my hair only the installation but I always like
to take my hair extensions out which I did with great lengths and alcohol worked good but I noticed with the Socap the bonds are stiffer and harder to take out. Good karma to you!!!

Hello! I have been wearing strand-by-strand hair extensions for over
two years now, and I still have a question that is answered differently
by every technician. My own hair is abundant but very fine. When I get
the extensions (formerly Great Lengths
and now So Cap), I like them to be applied very high on my head,
usually within a couple of inches of my part. My first stylist did it
this way, then I had to persuade the next, and my current stylist goes
back and forth on the practice, saying you... forum_posts.asp?TID=59976&KW=Great+Lengths&PID=474641#474641">

I just had to CUT a set of balmain hair extensions from my hair for the
same reason. I could not wear my hair down (which defeats the purpose),
they were so tangled and matted within an hour if I did wear them down
so I cut them out after three weeks and guess what....TRY and get a
refund. I'm actually going to start a class action suit as I'm not the
only one....and they won't back up their own product. If you don't like
them. Tough. Great Lengths are fab....had them four times...

Honestly I think more of her damage is coming from the excessive use of bleach and heated applicances.. Even if you took Great Lengths out of the equation, I think she would still suffer from unhealthy hair..
