With online purchases, go with recommendations from others...for instance on the product reviews board here at Hair Talk. Recently someone listed some hair sticks made out of bone available through online purchase.

The Long Hair Club sells two combs that are very smooth.

In person, just use your fingers to see how smooth the item really is...rounded edges too!

If you find something, let others know! For instance, I'd love a recommendation on an inexpensive smooth rounded banana clip (not a fancy/ornate one)!

Hi Monica

You can both see and feel seams because they are like ridges. Little raised lines of plastic or whatever material the comb is made out of.

If a comb has these ridges on the lenth of it's teeth, then they can progressively rip the hair cuticle.

Suggest you buy combs that are labelled as "seamless".
That's the safest option, IMO.

Take Care
