Went to have my extensions sewn-in (for the 1st time)- and I have a few questions.  The woman braided my hair vertically instead of horizontally- is that normal?  Also- she braided a big circle around my head as the outer rim...which isn't covered up by my hair, so it all needs to be redone.  I can pt the hair up, but there is a huge bulge on the bottom as well from this circle braid!  She started the extensions at my mid ear level but brought them all the way up to my very top of my head! I asked her to triple weft the hair (it's hand-tied so very skinny wefts), but she did them all individually...so I have 10 rows! She didn't leave enough out at the crown like I asked her to and she went too high up.  Not to mention they bleached my hair this awful white blonde/gold color on accident.

Ugh, so when I go back on Monday (yup- they let me go home like this!), I think I am going to ask for the circle braid to be removed, the cornrows to start lower and to be rubberbanded and the bottoms and for 5 rows (3wefts, 3, 2, 1, 1) and for there to be a huge amount of the crown out since my hair is so baby fine and thin.  I worried that she left too much out at the sides and that it would look like I had a mullet, but I guess it looks ok as the sides are layered i n.  It's still too long I think to be taken seriously, so when I go back I may have them take more off.  If you want me to upload some pictures later to give you an idea of what I am talking about, I can.

thanks for listening!

There are many different braiding patterns that can be used when doing weaves.  Many people do prefer the vertical pattern, some think it lays flatter.

It sounds like she was doing a  full weave on you, where no or very little natural hair is left out.  Full weaves can be nice, but in your case it sounds like there was a communication problem in letting her know what you wanted and her letting you know what she intended on doing.

The color job is a whole different thing.  If it's too white it may need to be toned.

So let us know what happens.  This is not a disaster, it a communication problem and it can be solved.
