I removed my unit, and began soaking the perimeter in acetone--like I usually do.
Except, this time, rather than securing the hair with a pony tail holder, I simply left it in the claw clip I was wearing in it when I took the unit off.
Now, fast forward about 40 minutes:
I scrub the perimeter, then put in in water to start rinsing it, and find I cannot get the claw clip out. At first, I thought maybe it got tangled, until I saw :horrors:
that the clip had DISSOLVED into the hair.
It is the consistency of taffy.
Sooooo, I'm using the last of my acetone to soak the gummed up spots.
if I let it just dry, I'm afraid it will harden.
So....don't do what I did.
Check and see if your clip you use to secure the hair while soaking the perimetere is actual tortoise shell, or just plastic.
Even if it does'nt get wet, the fumes will melt it.
