I gave this product a try (Med Ash Brown) because I just had a baby and have no time for 40 min. developing. My grey is very resistant so I was hesitant. It actually covered my grey! I left it on 15 min. It didn't cover as nicely as my favorite at-home product (Loreal Excellence) in that it wasn't as intense (dark). But to a new mom it was a great find, much better than walking around grey!
The product boasts that it's glossy, and yes, it was very shiny and highlighty-looking. That's kept up nicely for two weeks with gentle, infrequent shampooing. The included conditioner is nice, smells faintly like nexuus therapy. The color is def. on the warm side. I pull a lot of red, and I still got some warmth, even with the ash shade. Overall I recommend this. It's about $13, so more than other store color but much less than salon for you home colorists! -------------  [/url]

Elissa; awesome review! Glad it worked. The only thing I would caution with this product is doing the retouch. When you go to do your roots, only do your ROOTS and don't pull it through your hair. I say this because any product that works in only 10 mins is either using high ammonia or peroxide. If you keep putting that on your coloured hair, you will blow your cuticle and it will become very porous! ------------- Love clip-ins and tape! |

I didn't (never do) pull through because my hair gets too dark. It looks dark brown unless I'm in direct light or outside as it is...
THANKS for the tip though...and the caution. I'm going to have to check out the ingredients. If it does have high A or P I may have to pass on it. My hair tends to be porous and dries out quickly (long, thick & wavy). I haven't used heat in years and it's in great condition. ------------- [/url]

Did you use 6A? I think this product uses sodium glycinate or EDDS are the terms & The EDDS binds to copper & prevents its access to hydrogen peroxide thus waving a magic want at the damage created by free radicals & preventing FIBER DAMAGE more efficiently than products that use dtpa, edta, hedp... & there was mention of reducing pH. ammonium carbonate +Hydrogen peroxide+ amino acid sodium glycinate @pH9 vs ammonia+hydrogen peroxide @pH10-11  P&G_ResearchUpdate_Hair_Color pdf online discusses info on topic of interest... |

HEHEEEEEE There are some secrets to doing grey like 20 vol dev. etc will try to think of more formulas (brain off after all that chemistry) idk what this products developer level is yet (will research more)... plus I am sure in this instance it is beneficial to use the developer that comes with it as it has something special in it but am in a rush to the store... I saw Target have a sale on Level 9 for $8 something & Ulta has coupons you can print for $3.50 off $10 FYI |

BB: you rock! That is very interesting info. Sounds like it could be a typo. I mean, I don't think they are allowed to do false advertising are they? Saying it has one thing when it doesn't? Maybe, I am very naive!
I'm thinking maybe just for the lightest blonde colours it has the EDTA since it has to use something to get the hair up/lighten? Possibly the darker colours have the EDDS. Very interesting.
I know hair colour is getting better and is becoming less damaging, so I don't doubt the chemistry. But, I also know that they often have to substitute one bad thing for another for it to work! ------------- Love clip-ins and tape! |

HEHE yes I felt the same thing maybe edta for blondes & edds for others... I would say that I am naive reading the article and thinking this big breakthrough is specifically for the perfect 10 product... RIGHT NOW. I am happy for their breakthroughs and feel greedy for wanting that part of the product too lol. Let me know what you think if you get the time to read the paper. Maybe they just haven't released it into this particular product "yet". I haven't gone to find the patent for it yet... It made me start to think if adding a chelant to the color formula would work too. It also made me want to find that ingredient & add it. I sometimes wonder if one day they will give us nanobot particles to put into the hair with programmable metal eating bits, the full spectrum of colors we cannot see & we could change our hair easy like "ULTRA VIOLET" |

Borne.Blonde, thanks for that website; really informative! Love the science behind colour. You know...colour is progressing so fast. I do truly believe that it will be easier to achieve the colour you want even in drugstore colour. I can't wait until they develop a 'colour bleach' (something like Chi Infra High Lift) that really tones blonde hair and can be used at the roots. Your right cheese, their are professional products that lift and deposit colour at the same time. Wella have one called Magma, only thing its manly copper, blonde and reds they so. We use L'Oreal Majirel, which does the same thing. You need to use 40 vol of peroxide for them to work.
Personally after using both they are OK.

Yep, you guys are right! But, I could have sworn I read that none of those highlift (bleach-type) products can be used on the roots. Like the Chi Infra High Lift Blondes can't be used on the roots (or so they say!). What do you guys think? ------------- Love clip-ins and tape! |

I pull through but I use a semi perm. which washes out and fades so I have to.(it is also only 10 min)
I have been tempted to try the perfect 10 though.Thanks for the review

There are several research articles or commentaries discussing that EDDS is in natural instincts, nice n easy and in perfect 10 yet I didn't find it in the msds sheets for p&g. I didn't find EDDS only (EDTA) but did find sodium glycinate. Note the importance of EDDS binding to copper in the hair that apparently comes from "hot water heaters" or tap water, thus reducing damage caused by copper/h202 forming hydroxyl radicals. http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2008/04/07/1415917-could-science-end-bad-hair-days IF anyone sees and msds or product ingredients of these products in the UK let us know  Thank You. |
