My hair is currently blonde. My natural color is a medium dark. I was going to go ahead and color it back, but I am starting to think that i will keep it blonde. What should I use to color the roots that are quite a lot darker than the rest of my hair? I'd say right now my hair is a medium blonde. I only like to use semi-perm or natural instincts demi-perm right now. Thanks!

I don't think you can get blonde roots from a semi or demi if your hair is medium dark (I assume by medium dark you mean medium or dark brown).  You will usually need bleach to get it to blonde if your natural hair is anything darker than a dark blonde.  After you bleach it, it will be yellow, then you'll need to tone it with a violet toner.  Another option is after the bleach to dye it with a blonde that has a violet base to make it look more natural (not yellow), but this may be too damaging after bleach.  People usually opt for toner after bleach, then reapply it every few weeks.  Be sure to test strand everything!

Yep, I agree!LOL Although, if your hair is now a golden blonde, you may be able to get away with trying a highlift ash blonde. You will no doubt get a warm result, but it may not matter to you. If you want a neutral or cool effect blonde, then you will have to bleach as Susan suggests. Good luck!Tongue
