Hi there!

I got extensions for the first time a month and a half ago. I bought my own hair so i knew what i was buying-- i went with a brand called flashpoint. we dyed to match. the color is perfect! i have the micro link method and i love it. EXCEPT the hair is WRECKED!

well at least to me it seems like it! I'm using Enjoy products and conditioning daily but the ends are sooo split. i went and talked to my stylist and she said its normal. i've only lost 3 pieces. i'm doing exactly what she said-- i just didn't expect the hair to get damaged. is it normal?? i expected it to stay healthy!

If this is normal then i don't want to use human hair. i don't want a ton of split ends that tangle and look all frayed when i wear it straight! Any advice would be helpful Cry

well it depends on the hair you got- flashpoint is not the greatest quality.
do you hot tools alot on it? you could of split the ends with too much heat.
try this-
kms makes a great product called silk therapy- put on your  hair when went, not at roots or cylinders, dry hair, then use a smaller amount like a pea size and work thru dry hair, then run the flat iron thru it, it should help to seal the ends and make your hair real silky

Also, you said you condition daily, do you wash daily?  From what I understand washing daily will dry it out and it should only be done about twice a week.

I had a bad batch of hair my first time and I did a hot oil treatment on the ends (VO5 from walgreens).  I am not a professional so I dont know what the experts say, but it really helped my hair

i work in a mexican food restaurant-i have to wash it daily. by the time i get home i smell like ground beef and margarita mix. lol. but i condition with Enjoy's IRS spray and intensive conditioning cream. It has a ph of 4.0 i think. I don't blow dry but i do flat iron it. I have to--it gets soo frizzy! but i use pureology's shine serum to protect it from the heat. I also use biosilk throughout the day and perfect 10 miracle spray at the end of the day before i brush and braid my hair for bed.

It seems like the hair lost its cuticle really. i went into a wig shop yesterday and asked to see the flashpoint wefts of hair and my hair is not even close to the same texture as it started. Its very coarse. i'm not happy with it :(

What is a better brand of hair?

I was thinking about trying a high end synthetic next time-any thoughts?
