Just a quick question... Do I need to wash out any hair products before I color? I used hairspray and a bit of hair gel yesterday and I want to color today. So wash it out and then color my hair or just go ahead and color? Or wash hair today and color tomorrow?

Yes, it is good to use a clarifying shampoo to get the goop off. If you have hard water or something you could Demineralize your hair with something like Metalex. If you are doing bleach it is sometimes recommended not to brush the scalp & let the oil build up a little if there is a tendency to be sensitive to peroxide etc. Then you can acidify the hair with something like Performance Plus by wella or a vinegar rinse.

IA with Borne. What I like to do is wash a day or so ahead of my colour. Depending on what exact process you are doing (bleaching/lifting or darkening), you may be able to go with just brushing your hair a few hours before your process. When I bleach, I leave my hair as dirty as I can because I want those natural scalp oil and product buildup to coat my hair and protect it from the bleach. If you are darkening or toning your hair, you'll want to have fairly clean hair for the colour to 'take.'
