Was just thinking and wondering if you could sew clip on the skin wefts extensions or would it be too thin?

I dont think it would work well.
The skin weft is like a thick rubbery material, it would look really strange and be quite bulky...

Really, I thought that the weft material was thin and almost sheer. I am totally confused then lol

Well its is translucent, but I wouldnt say thin, at least not as thin as a weft of hair.

the skin material varies in thickness on different skin wefts. They shouldnt be real thick, but some may be thicker than others. I agree that I dont think clips would work well on skinwefts. I think they might buckle, rather than lay flat.

The best way to attach the skin wefts would be with 1/2 inch wide tape, supertape or True blue (this is a new tape that is a really good product) tape, both excellent tapes. You could even install the skin wefts with Liquid gold glue, or a combination of tape/LG for added hold.

I think I will try the tape by itself. Thanks so much

I do not know how easy it would be to do, but it is possible. In the click  below, there is a picture of skin wefts with clips.  The seamless hair I use has a thin skin weft material and I would assume it would be fairly easy to sew some clips in.   Good luck and please post pictures if you do.

Cool, thanks. I will let you know if I ever do that. I just got some new wefts that weren't skin wefts and sewed the clips on them. It may be a while before I order anymore.

I've got a whole head set of clip ins I made from skin wefts. They're great!

They're the type of skin wefts that have a thin strip of peel off backing adhesive on them. I peeled that off, doubled the weft over so they stuck together and then sewed the clips on. With the two sides together, it doubled the density of the weft.

I'll see if I can get some photos uploaded of them. I'm not proud of the quickie sew job I did on them but they've been holding up very, very well and no buckling.

I have to say, it was much harder getting the needle through the two skin layers but it's definitely doable.

Edit to add photos:

Hopefully you can see the skin weft well. I hand sewed right through these and they were doubled. They're no thicker than many machine wefts out there.

Hope this helps.

Those look amazing. Thanks for showing them to me. I am definitely going to do that when I need new extensions again. Have a great Christmas.
