Hi everyone! First off, I can't say how happy I am to have found this place! Such a wealth of information!

Ok, so here's my situation: I posted a couple weeks ago about trying to get my medium-brown-but-dyed-red-for-the-past-3-years hair to a light blonde color. I went ahead and got my bleach (Wellite on scalp - LOVE that stuff!), bleached it twice and toned it with Clairol Creme Toner in Towhead mixed with 20 vol developer and No Red.

All in all, I was pretty happy with the result. Mainly because I was able to get my hair actually blonde without any of if falling out lol However it was very yellow blonde, not really natural looking.

last week my roots started showing, so I bleched just my roots and used some left over color (not toner) from Sallys that I got. It didn't work - it didn't blend my hair colors at all, so I had these flourescent yellow roots and gold hair. Not too pretty. So, I went to the drugstore and got some semi-permanent hair color (Natural Instincts in Sahara) since I read that's very similiar to toner. It blended the top of my hair pretty well (it actually looks similiar to the box) but there are still some definite patches.

The general problem is that is that the majority of my hair still has a very gold/yellow tinge to it. Especially where it had been dyed red (my roots aren't as gold). The dyed part is also a bit darker. I'm hoping I don't have to bleach it again, but does anyone know the best way to get it to more of an ashy blonde? The towhead toner had a blue/violet base, do I need something with just a violet base?

Also, I did pick up some Jirrack silver shampoo to start using when I wash my hair to help discourage brassiness, but I take it this isn't strong enough on it's own?

I'm going to Sally tonight so any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Sorry for writing so much!!!

BTW, would it be worth using a filler first? Could that make the toner stick better?
