My question is....if you are certified in XYZ hair extensions and the present salon you work in features ABC hair extensions - which you didn't know, is your XYZ certification compatible with the ABC product?
Are you only allowed to work with the product you were certified in and now have to go through another certification in the salon's featured product?
There are so many products and most are similar, but must you be certified in them all to actually perform the service for that specific product?
I'm asking this because I have a certification class I'm registered in and I just landed a job at a salon I can see myself growing with, but the hair extensions they use are not what I will be certified in.
Does anyone have any knowledge on this topic?
Thanks

Hello,

I am certified by several different hair extension companies.  While one you learn a specific skill, such as keratin bonding, the application is essentially the same from one brand to another.   However, some of the big branded companies, like So Cap (which I am certified with), Greath Lengths, Cinderella, they would require you to cough up the big bucks to become certified with them before they will let you buy their product.

Thanks.  That is what I thought.
The salon I work at offers Cinderella extensions and I will be certified in Flhair extensions.  Would I still be able to perform the extension service??  Or is that mainly up to management??
