Hi everyone! I am seriously bored with my hair and am looking for a change but nothing too drastic as I am not the adventurous type. The length of my hair is currently about 4-5 inches past my shoulders and I have long layers, the shortest just above my shoulders. I have a heart shaped face and part my hair on the side. I dont want to do the bangs thing, but I don't know how else to change it up a little. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Not really a lot of options with your limitations as I see it.
You could bring it up just above the shoulders to get more swing.  Whether you have layers or not is up to you.  A pic is helpful if you want more ideas from people.
Good Luck

Well, you're exactly between long and short, you could go either way really.

I'm sorry, I can't find a current picture of my hair but I'll try to get one posted ASAP! I don't want to go longer as I have had long hair my whole life. Right now is the shortest it's been in awhile, and its not even short. I'm just hesitant in case I regret the cut. What do you guys think I should do?

Posting pictures of your current style (a recent picture of you) would be beneficial.  It shows your texture, skin tone, how you style, etc.  It is hard to suggest a style without a picture....

Sorry for the link. The picture wouldnt upload directly. That is my hair unstyled and I usually leave it like that or straigten it.

I am sure you have heard that a picture is worth 1000 words.  Well, in this case, it was.  Very helpful and now we all know what you are working with.  So, one more quick question.  It appears you have pretty thick hair and some good texture.  How curly is your hair?  Is the way it is dried naturally?  How curly can you make it?  If you have any pictures with it as curly as you can get it and with a straight iron, that would be even more help.  I have a few ideas for you already.

Thats how my hair dried naturally. Usually it dries semi straight-wavy, and its not very think--kind of middle of the road. I dont have any pictures of me with it as curly as it can be because I always wear it either airdried or straight.

Have you ever thought of an Inverted Bob? It does not have to be that short in the back.
Just a thought what are yours

I don't really like inverted bobs so I havent considered that. The problem is it's hard for me to imagine what different hair would actually look on me.

So, like you said, you have never gone very short before so you are probably nervous about it.  Here are some ideas for you that are around shoulder length.  Since your hair isn't as curly as I thought it was, that threw out several that I had in mind for you.  Let me know what you think about these....

Personally, I think bangs would be great on you but I know you said you didn't want to do them.
I would go up to the shoulders with some layers.
The first link that bnbivi00 posted I thought was good - something like that.

Why not have your hair shoulder length, with choppy layers, and feather cut coming into your face.

What about an angled bob that goes the opposite direction with the hair in back long and the hair in front shorter?
