Hello everyone! I need some help and information. I have naturally dirty blonde hair and have been paying money, lots of money, for a very long time to have it hilighted. I decided I wanted to dye my hair a light blonde. I bought loreal paris feria hair color in shade 100 natural very light blone pure diamond. To me it looks too golden or gingery or orangey at the roots. I went to sally's beauty supply and was sent home with purple shampoo. So far I have not noticed any improvement. The lady at sally's gave me a new color with a 30 developer to fix it. I have not used the new color yet because I have just recently read on the internet from various blogs that feria is a metallic dye and terrible things will happen if you were to recolor, perm, or chemically straighten ones hair i.e. ones hair will melt and fall out or turn a crazy color. So, my question is, is the color i used metallic? what ingredient on the box is the metallic ingredient(s)? What should I do? If i try this new color frm sally's (ION) should i use a hair color remover first? Im just scared of making a bad situation worse. I want my hair light blonde. Its light blond everywhere but the roots. please help. and thank you!

Hi I would definitely be careful there, I had some issues when coloring my daughter's hair, she wanted it lighter than it originally came out so I went on and bleached it 2 weeks later that part was fine...it was a month later that I put a relaxer touch-up to her new growth only that there was awful breakage (I cried and she was fine go figure?) either way her hair is truly growing back due in part to an "old school scalp and hair treatment" I got online from hair and body by ceecee -in the mean time I have put in some extensions and no one is the wiser

You said that your natural hair color is dirty blonde.  "Dirty" is a relative term.  So, is your natural hair color a light, medium, or dark dirty blonde?
