Hi Everybody --

Hate to start off being needy, but I just went from being a blonde with washed out highlights to being a *brunette* (and I look awful).   I was supposed to end up with a brown base with blonde highlights, but the base came out too dark and the highlights didn't take.  Advice on how to lighten my hair (which is naturally gray) and/or get the highlights to take would be appreciated.

My hairdresser used Goldwell 7NA 1 part and 7GB 1/2 part for the base and after coloring my whole head and drying it used Redken 10N and 10GB 30 volume for the highlights.   The highlights simply didn't take.   I guess you know what my chances are of getting in to see a qualified colorist during the Holidays for remedial work.  Slim and none.  Any way to at least lighten this?  The hairdresser said she would be willing to work with me tomorrow, try highlighting again or whatever, if I wanted.  What can I do?

Thanks in advance....

Joanna P
