I've read in past posts that Aphogee is supposed to be really good, but really stinky. I don't think my husband would appreciate the smell on my hair or in the shower. So are there any other really good protein treatments, especially with animal protein, because I think someone said it attaches to the hair better than plant proteins. Thanks :-)

Hehehe...it was I who said that about animal vs. plant proteins. Yes, Aphogee smells like no other. Yech!!! (My family didn't appreciate it either, and neither did anyone who got within 20 feet of me for 24 hours afterward.)
Jheri Redding makes a product called Professional PR super protein pac and I've gotten it at Sally(here's a link: http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?pf%5Fid=540649&dept%5Fid=1215. - http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?pf%5Fid=540649&dept%5Fid=1215. )
I don't have a bottle with me but it does contain protein--I just don't know what kind. It too smells quite odd but it does not linger on and on and on like Aphogee. It's more of a deep conditioner than a big ol' mess like Aphogee. I hope that helps you....perhaps other people will recommend some other treatments for you too! :-)
