Now THIS gave me a good laugh! I've sent those of you who've asked my manifesto list of more than 200 common hair product ingredients. Well, I also write product reviews for epinions.com (you thought "Lyris" was a goofy screename...on epinions I'm "altairastar!") Anyway, I just got an email from a lady who works at Joico and is apparently creating an ingredient list for the company and having a really hard time looking up several ingredients. She read my review of Redken All Soft in which I reference several ingredients, and asked me to send her my ingredient glossary!
Of course I did, but I hope too she will check out, you know, PUBLISHED authors and reputable sources too if it's for Joico copy and not rely upon my personal list used for Trade Secret shopping trips! Granted, I culled my list from the Winters cosmetic dictionary, Paula Begoun's book, the FDA's Rose Sheet and my dad's chemistry texts, but good grief! I'm 22 and in public relations, not science! I just thought it was ironic, a consumer essentially telling a hair company what's in their products. Have a lovely day everyone. :-)

LOL! That's great, Lyris!
Did you charge her a fee for your services rendered as a biological and chemical researcher?

No kidding! But she was very nice and sounded almost...well, desparate, so I felt obliged to help her. She's emailed me back today--twice--with ingredient-related questions. I never knew talking up acetamide MEA could be so exciting :-)
