Hi All,

I have a question... I want to darken my blonde color.  Let me fill you in on what I have done thus far...  I have been getting my hair bleached (just root maintenance for the last several months) for almost a year.  I am naturally a sandy blonde, although with age (I'm 29) my roots are now a brown, mousy color.  I have started getting slight breakage (shaft, not root) in my bang area so I decided to forego the salon this month and try to color my roots myself.  I figured a box color would be much more gentle.  Here's the process I went through.

1.  Bought a box of L'Oreal Light Natural Blonde color and used it at home... resulted in orange/copper roots.  Color was nice on rest of blonde hair.

2.  Decided to bleach my roots with Beyond the Zone on/off scalp bleach.  Worked great, although it was too light, and had a yellow tint.

3. Added L'Oreal Color Gems Toner (from Sally's Beauty Supply) in LIGHTEST Natural Blonde.  I decided to pick the lighter shade based on suggestions via the web.  For the most part the yellow is gone, although there is a bit of it left.  The main problem is that it looks too light, and unnatural.

I was wondering if should buy a semi-permanent deposit only color in a golden blonde color to darken the hair and use it all over my head?  Would the semi-permanent color attach to the lighter blonde that is now there and achieve my desired effect?  And could the process turn my color in an undesired way even though it is deposit only?  Thanks!
