Okay. So, I have been letting my hair grow out for a while. It is now past chin length when straightened. I have curly hair (spiral curls, relatively loose), and have had short hair successfully in the past (see my post about it here: http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=59284 - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=59284 ). As you can see, I have a face that is roundish. I think my biggest downfall with my last cut is that my hair is so thick and heavy that the style was not appropriately suited for the weight of my hair (even though I totally loved it and rocked it out).

When I got it cut again, keeping it MUCH shorter on the sides and cutting in more layers on the top was way more flattering for my face.

So, knowing this about the weight and texture of my hair, as well as the shape of my face (also, keeping in mind that I'm short and a bit overweight),
can I do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQnntUcbgm8 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQnntUcbgm8

with my hair?

thick hair with curls/waves makes an easy pixie - little product to shape and ready to go.

The longer pixie you had was cute but, this would be a better style on you.

You could pull it off with the shorter back &  sides, but if you do, leave a bit of length on top and front.   My wife has a similar shape face to yours, and as long as the bangs are longer, and the top not too short, you can get away  with very short sides and still look very cute!

Good luck

Had to post as about 5 hours ago I had my hair cut in to the 'Vavoom Pixie' My boyfriend came with me to the salon and 'encouraged' the stylist to cut the back really short, it's shorter than my friend's who has a #4 even though clippers weren't used on me!

Looking at your pic., I'm sure you'll look great with the cut, a good stylist will cut your fringe (bangs) to suit your face shape, and you have great cheekbones.

Be brave and go for it! I did, my hair was half way down my back, and I've never had my hair cut above my shoulders before, I LOVE IT, just need to get used to my neck and ears!!Smile

Nikkij,

Your haircut sounds stunning and such a transformation.  Would you be kind enough to share a few before and after pictures with us?

I'm glad you listened to your boyfriend as a lots of girls change there minds about how short they will go at the last minute, but your partner will always give you an honest opinion, plus most girls wish they had gone "that bit shorter" afterward.  Good thing is you don't have too Thumbs%20Up
