Surprised there are no comments--though it was bland. I guess.

Angelina J., ERW, Alicia Keys and Diane Lane all looked pretty good.

The Oscars has turned into the biggest non-event of the year....hair wise that is.  The same can be said this year, last year, the year before that, as well as next year and years to come:

"Many elaborate updo's as there is a return to old Hollywood glamour"

Have to agree with ssjockey. How the most glamorous event of the entertainment industry can also be the most-boring event hair-wise is a mystery to me. There were some good styles, but none at all that made me say "wow."

That said, worst: Heidi Klum. I can only imagine she flattened her hair and stuck it behind her ears to emphasize her jewelry. Which worked, but seems a little misguided. Though some must be relieved that she didn't get that chin-length bob after all?

Best - Evan Rachel Wood: Didn't see her in the video, but in the pix above she looks stunning with that updo. I'm usually not a fan of updos at all, as I think it takes a woman's biggest asset (her hair) and neutralizes it, which I never understood. But if you're gonna do one, this is the way. Well played.

Your hair is your best accessory; wear it with STYLE!

I also never been a fan of updos.  Seems like if it is a major event you have to do an updo.  Certainly your hair should be done nicely but why an updo?  Why strangle the hair into a style that essentially hides it.  There are a very few that might look better in an updo but I would say they would look just as good in a short hairstyle.  I rather see the woman's crowning glory down, full, shiny, flowing...
As for the Oscars - boring...
