Hi guys, this part of the forum is completely new to me as I have never considered extensions (apart from clip ins) before, and I am reading a lot of stuff, but can anyone tell me the basics? I have thick bleached blonde hair that can be fragile. Can anyone tell me the best method for me? My hair is very layered and thick, I'm scared that they will be really obvious. Or is it up to the application? I want human hair, and I know costs will obviously vary, but I'm guessing approx $1,000 first go, but what about from there? Would it be better/cheaper to buy they hair and take it in? See I'm so clueless, please help! Thanks Ally |

Hello everyone! This economy stinks but it never hurts to do add on services! Go to link removed they have a how to video and you wont believe how easy it is to do. You can call them directly for their intro kit $300.00 you will get 2 packs of hair (your choice of color) a free DVD, color ring, micro tape and Adhesive remover. Your clients will love it and best of all the hair is totally reuseable! They even sell 1/2 packs and 1/4 packs which means no waste. In this economy every little bit helps. To do a full head depending on how much hair the client has 1 - 2 packs with do it. To put on 1 pack of hair half an hour is all it takes and to packs nomore than 1 hour. "me 45 minutes" So even if you charge $250.00 for a pack and it takes you 30 minutes to apply. Well I'm sureyou can do the math! Big bucks. Stylist are charging up to $600.00 for 1 pack. Welcome to the forum!
I see you have a lot of questions!
I am going to try to make it simple: basically, you can wear hair extensions with very damaged baby fine hair, and your extensions can be totally undetectable.
It depends on many things, your method, the color match, the hair you're chosing etc.
I recommend you go with DIY technique if you want to save a load of $$!
It is very easy and the best thing is, you will get better and better every time because you'll learn from your mistakes or just will tweak things one way or another.
A great and easy way to start is to use the tape method. You can find tutorials on how to do a tape install on this forum -you'll have to check the stickies- on hairextensions101 and diyextensions.net also.
You really have to take the time to di into old posts, make your own education basically.
YOU will have to find out what method will work best for ou, because we all have very different needs and tastes obviously. Some people like one method, some prefer another, and same goes with hair.
For a first time install, I would recommend using the tape method and buying some bohyme -again some would recommend other brands, this is definitely one of my favorite!- I think it is a good way to start.
I think it terms of cost, your install can be pretty cheap, the main cost will be the hair, ebonyline.com and hairsisters.com are good companies by the way, it should be between $100 to $300 depending the length and color you want, and about $20 to $30 for tapes, remover and such.
