hi everyone! i have something i would like to share, as im sure someone else will have this same hair issue.
i had dark brown hair with highlights. i initially got the higlights from a color oops. i always colored my own hair and used a new (new to me) color which was made specifically for brunettes. it turned my hair black.
i visited a salon for some professional help. the black looked ok but just not on me.  the salon suggested highlights instead of color stripping. (my hair is very long) after about 6 months i had more highlighted hair than not. this made my hair lighter than i wanted. i decided to color my own hair again.
from research online and a few posts here, i learned to use golden brown and not ash brown to prevent green.  i also debated between light and medium brown.
i ended up using the medium golden brown. i was told the highlighted portion of my hair would come out lighter. which was ok with me, since the overall effect would be darker hair.
the result? the highlights came out the same color as the rest. it is a dark reddish brown and looks awesome!Big%20smile  i had thought about going very dark red (not burgundy tho, to me it looks purplish) in the future.
interesting that that is what i got. i love it! i have celtic ancestors and it looks very much like a natural irish haircolor.
happy hair coloring ya'll!!!Thumbs%20Up

I am so pleased your hair turner out great. You may find the colour will fade slightly from your hi lighted area over time, but the more you reapply your colour the more it will grab onto those areas.

Thanks for the updateThumbs%20Up
