Ok, my problem is that I sometimes put my long hair up (warm weather)and I have these atrocious sideburns. Maybe you could understand me better as with long hair I don't get it cut that often so I am trying to shape my sideburns them myself.

 

Can you give me any tips, directions, pics or websites that would show how to style sideburns so they look nice. Are "points" still in style?

 

I did try to get one stylist to cut shape them for me. He cut them completely off and I swear they looked like a male style and I am pretty sure at least two guys were making fun of me!  The next stylist told me to grow them out and use gel to put them behind my ears. Instead of getting long enough to use gel they became this hairy, unruly mess!

 

Please help! And keep up with the long hair!
