My stylist is great with color. But when it comes to cuts and eyebrow color application, I almost always come home irritated. (I have medium to long hair with bangs).

First thing when I get home: I run upstairs and re-blow dry my hair. That's OK, it's probably pretty common that each person has their own style of blow drying...

BUT, the next thing I do is to sit down in front of a mirror and trim portions of my bangs that are not even or parts that are bugging my eyelids or eyelashes. There are always stray hairs from the crown area that are way longer than my bangs.

But the eyebrow color, OMG. My stylist applies the color with the same big brush that she uses on my hair. Most of the time, she does not wipe off the excess. I approach the sink with these huge Groucho Marx eyebrows! Then she rubs my eyebrows so hard with a towel that my closed eyelids start opening up. One time I even said "Ouch! That's my eyeball!"

The 3rd step when I'm at home is to get out my old Shiseido eye makeup remover and put some on a Qtip. I then apply this to my brows to remove the excess color product that is staining my skin around my eyebrows. My eyebrows are actually sore at this point from the roughness of my stylist at the sink.

I don't know what to do. I'm very happy with how she does color, but not so happy with the cut and eyebrow technique.

What do you think?

Thanks!

It's your hair you should be picky! Find a styist you like for cuts and keep her for color. that's not uncommon

I agree; you should get what you want.  My wife has someone for color and someone else to cut her hair.

Thanks - I probably will do that (go to another stylist for cuts).

What do you think about the eyebrow thing - is that normal to be so sloppy and rough? I used to have a stylist who applied color to the brows very carefully with a very small brush.

Don't have anything to offer on the eyebrow thing; seems an easier task and shouldn't be a problem.  But if you don't like the way they are doing them, try someone else.

Get a new stylist for both...I don't think eyebrow coloring is something that should be rushed. You should feel comfortable and at ease while they are doing what they do, not in pain
