Hi guys,
Please, please can someone give me some advice??

I've been toying with the idea of a fringe for ages now but keep bottling it! As a light blonde, I think people can underestimate how you can often feel like 'just another blonde' and sometimes you just want that edge!

I see these amazing, funky hairstyles that I always admire. Especially when it's someone who isn't following a trend. It just feels so boring to have that same long blonde hair with middle or side parting (dependant upon mood) despite its versatility.

I love the way Sienna Miller looked in Alfie, I also love the way Bridget Bardot looked with that sex kitten fringe. How come some fringes look so amazing yet others look so...well, boring?!

I've attached a couple of pictures and am hoping that some hair guru on here will tell me what they think. The pics are acting shots hence the start black and whiteness!

Thanks guys...

I think you could pull off bangs very nicely.

Yes, bangs would be beneficial to you.

Thanks guys. Any particular reason you think so?

What sort are we talking? Front, side fringe?

Because of your fairly prominent forehead, I'm thinking bangs would look great and I'd also have them cut so you could do either.

Great, thanks.

I'd love to go for a Rachel Bilson fringe but it scares me!! It's the hating a fringe that's a nightmare. All that growing out...

Probably should go for bangs that blend into the side also.  I agree with HAWG on both accounts.  Would soften your look and should go for a style that could be worn down or swept to the side.  Maybe something like Jennifer Garner's

The bangs will look great and you won't have to worry about growing them out.  I failed to mention earlier that bangs will bring out those great eyes of yours.

That's really sweet of you Hawg!

I have a narrow face and wide forehead so I don't think a fringe could hurt. Everyone loves my mid/side parting but I'm bored to pieces.

Next question, how hard is it to tie a full fringe back should you want the scraped back look?

Can't you tell I'm poo-ing myself about it?

You know that guys really hate the scraped back look don't you?  We really do.

That's great but I'm pretty sure he's in the minority.  Here's a link to a thread I started years ago about Reese Witherspoon:

The WireImage link in the thread won't take you the pictures I was refering to; try this one:

As you read the thread, most of the women like it; most of the men don't.  What really matters is what you like.

I hate that look (scraped back) also.  I am suprised to find a male who does.

Doesn't the neat parting look a killer, timeless look though? It's so versatile. That's what's putting me off!

I have till Friday to decide...argh!

Sammy ,
May I ask what side do you part your hair on? If I was your stylist I would part it on the left and slide cut the bangs from mid forehead to top right upper cheek bone. this would make your facial features stand out much more. I would also and some darker shades thru out the fringe. You may think about adding some layers towards the front also.

Hi Mike,

I part it all over the place!

No, it tends to be just off centre or right parting. I do actually like my hair, I just wonder if something else would suit me better!

Thanks for your help...!
