Hi my name is April I'm new to this site and came across it while looking at some pics of short haircuts. About 2 months ago I had a chin length bob and it looked really cute, in an attempt to save money I went to get a trim at supercuts. I asked the lady to cut the back a little short and she went a little crazy, I expected her to use clippers but the part she cut with sisors looked terrible it was choppy and uneven. There were tears and I tried all kinds of products to make it look better but it was still a mess and she didn't blend it at all into the front.
So I went out and got a set of clippers one with a really long guard so I could try to fix it. While I did manage to make it look better it still just didn't look right the front was very long and didn't really match the front. So I decided to try some more trendy cuts. I undercut the sides and that looked better, but the mushroom cut was not a good look. So I layered the top the back(top of my head) is about 1 inch to 1.5 inchs and I cut it so that the front is still longer(cheek bone legnth) and I buzzed the back to blended the top the legnth starts from my ears forward. I tapered the back mainly cause my hair is thick and the back nape area seems to grow at the speed of light. Honestly it sounds like a pretty severe cut and it is I doubt I would ever go into a salon and ask for such a short cut. But since I did this I love it. I have never had my haircut with clippers and it's really nice esp. in 90 degree weather. I also have frizzy hair and when it frizz's it just gets spikey which looks cute too. The best way to describe my cut is Kiera Knightly's cut from the movie Domino.
I will most likely keep it short for the summer then grow it a bit in the winter. I really like it and can see myself cutting it real short each summer I get up wash it put some prouduct in and go. The reactions I get are mostly good most women tell me that they love it but aren't brave enough to cut theres that short. Some people say they hate it mostly people who really are into long hair. I also have to make sure I wear some more jewerly and more femine clothes (I am not the most girly girl). So I guess the moral of the story is you get a bad haircut it's ok try something new. And if you ever get the change to cut your hair really short (ex. you donate your hair or get a bad cut) go for it it feels really different.
