Im finally going for it and getting a sew in weave on saturday....whilst I am a bit nervous i am thinking it has to be better than my rapidly shedding current hair!
The thing is im not sure if i should order my own hair , though its probably too late now, or if i should trust what the salon is selling me ?
After contacting a few people i have decided to go to a lady who is employed by my local gym, doing hair & beauty in there. She also works for two other chains of the same gym.
I asked her if the hair was remy and she said it was and that it was eastern european. I could have chosen spanish for a little more but she said the quality was more or less the same just that the spanish was a little softer to the touch.
Now this lady also manufactures her own hair and the wefts of hair are handwefted.
I felt some hair in my hand but it felt kind of coarse, not like my own hair...is human hair thats away from the scalp supposed to feel this way ?
on the packet i noticed the hair said FUNMI and when i googled it, it comes up with Helena (her name) and funmi in the same sentence and then i clicked the link which takes you to her site funmi.com selling the hair.
Just how do i really know it is proper human quality hair ?
she is using 1 pack for me as im only having about 3 tracks and no closure.
My hair is very brittle and the ends are breaking everyday as its so damaged from overbleaching.
Also she is braiding synthetic hair in with my natural hair to make the base more stable.
Im just really worried as ive heard so many weave horror stories.
All in all im getting charged £250 for the hair , £25 to put it in ,and £35 to put lowlights through it.
Is this a normal price ? I live in greater London.
Is there anything i should ask her specifically to do with regard to which way the tracks go as my hair is so fine and damaged ?
Also my scalp gets greasy quickly...like in two days if i dont wash my hair.
Im really worried about slippage or the tracks showing!!
