my hair is a weird strawberry blonde slightly orange color ( level 8-9). It was lifted by a hairdresser last week from a deeeeep brown and black chunks.

I'm going back in 2 days for "session 2" where he claims he can get my platinum & to bring in ideas for platinum hair. I think he's shooting for the stars here..

Only problem is NOTHING he has said has gone right. I was supposed to have a medium brown hair color for a month or 2 and come back, turns out it went lighter but redder.. and i was stuck with this for a week. Also these 2 sessions are costing me nearly 500$!! in one week. ( which from what i understand is .. fairly normal..)

I just don't want anymore surprises.. .. and want some other opinions or thoughts..  so i am not stuck with some other awful color and and need to come in again and fork over MORE money!

Thanks for your advice in advance.

http://www.nucleardoll.com/levelsoflift.html So which one of these colors are you? Do you have a photo? How is the condition of your hair & Have you gone to other hairdressers to get a second opinion or free consultation? (Never hurts) especially if they use the type products you research or like...

what is he using & does he foil or air midlengths / ends then do the roots?

my hair is to the middle of my back. The top part (root to my shoulders) is a level 9, then past my shoulders where there was lots of black for many years is a level 8 for sure.

I asked 2 friends of mine who work at salons and they say he's doing really well.. and the price is fair (not a deal.. but not robbing me blind)  I have deep conditioned my hair all week and it feels better then it did before i started this.

he does a shampoo / bleach for 30 minutes then foils in more bleach and 40 volume for another 30. Then tones.

Just wondering if i really will go super blonde... or if i should have a backup idea. I am so clueless about hair and lifting. I don't want to be stuck with any form of a orange, yellow or golden after all this.

I'm aiming for this look ps.

Do you think you will get the ends of the (past black=level 8 ) trimmed? Sounds pretty good except the shampoo/bleach for 30 min![[[he prolly doesn't use developer & just does it to your ends that are dark?--- Not sure if I personally care for a bleach cap. Controlled FOILS or Air  then later roots sounds good. Whatever is best for the integrity of the hair really. MAybe a blonde on blonde thing is what he is going for (without the black lowlights in the photo though)... because if you do that you will always have that section be a tad (oddish) which requires a darker toner I think. Embarrassed  I like the slower lower 30 vol method & below...some say 40 really aggrevates the hair.  Good to have buds in the business to help!! Hope it turns out fab..I love the hairstyles only mags that give great ideas...

anyways..short story=== sounds like he knows what he is doing :)
