I just bought Wella Color Charm demi-permanent and the activating lotion. The application development instructions say, "Apply to towel-dried pre-shampooed hair. Development time is 20 minutes without heat, 15 minutes with a controlled heat source."

End of story! But I read that as you leave the product in the hair, as there are no directions for rinsing out the product, or washing it out. So do you just let it dry?! That doesn't seem right.

Plus, does "pre-shampooed" mean that you just get it wet (after all, "pre-shampooed" sounds like "not washed"), or does it mean "washed before coloring?" In either case, why don't they just say "unwashed hair" or "shampooed hair"?!

I'm sure this is simple for most of you, but the products I've used in the past were dummy-proof - and I'm a bit of a hair color dummy!
new  Thanks for any help!

HE he Julie,

Pre shampooed just means after you have shampooed your hair, dry your hair with a towel then apply your hair colour, after development time (20 min) just rinse the Colour off with warm water shampoo and condition hair as normal.

I hope this helps hunnie, KarenSmile
