I'm home sick today with strep throat and bored out of my mind so I decided to start a poll of everybody's most hated styling products! Have fun :)

Mine are:
Matrix Sleek.Look Extreme Cream-this stuff seriously wrecked my hair. It was SO dry and strawlike for weeks until I cut some of it off.

Kerastase Oleo-Relax Serum-this stuff left my top hair layer frizzy and wavy. My hair looked somewhat lank and I didn't care for the smell.

L'Oreal Straight Up Ironing Gel-my hair was sticky and gross. 'Nuff said.

Rusk Wired Styling Creme-Ewww! This stuff smells like rotten cologne. It literally made my hair stiff and dry.

Clairol Herbal Essences Maximum Hold Mousse-it left my hair feeling stringy and stiff when I wore it wavy/curly.

That's all I can think of for now. :)

Generally, my least favorite styling product is hairspray. I haven't found a hairspray or a method for applying it that will allow me to still run my fingers thru my hair. I hate it when the hair is all stiff and stuck-together-like.

Oh let's rant some more; it's such fun. Most hated product of all time: Special FX Straighten Out Gel. Once upon a time this product was actually pretty good, but they reformulated it into a rubber cement-like pink ooze that greased up my hair so badly I was embarassed to go out in public.

Hehe! I tried that too a couple years ago. I remember the greasy feeling and the odd smell. It was very weirdl; I don't think I'll use a pink colored gel again. :)

Got some more to add to the list:

Rusk Str8 (I don't have much luck with Rusk styling products though I do adore their shampoos and conditioners.)

KMS Flat Out Relaxing Balm: RIDICULOUSLY over-priced for such crap. I think this is worse than the Special Effects Straighten Out. :(

Any more you guys hate?

Dep gel and other hard gels like that are the WORST! I went through about a bottle of the stuff every month when I was taking ballet and my hair was damaged as a result. Also, I don't like hairspray and Aveda products are so heavy feeling and over priced.

Yeah, those cheap gels can either not work AT ALL or totally make your hair that damaged, gummy, nasty texture.
I don't know if they've got a dollar store at all of your various locations, but at the one near my place, they sell these huge tubs of gel for--you guessed it--one dollar. A long time ago, a friend and I bought one for another friend as a gag (the friend we gave it to is a major short hair product junkie). We all tried a little bit of the stuff just for fun and for the sake of being experimental (I know hair care enthusiasts are frowning upon us now) and that gel was BAD--not even worth the dollar we paid!
Took me a couple days to fully get the stuff out....it was a stupid "for-fun" hair mistake, but I guess you get what you pay for, sometimes not even that.
