In your opinion, what works best?

I always thought you needed 8oz for a good thick head but I'm seeing that a lot of salons only offer 4oz or 6oz at the most.

What do you guys use?

I think it depends on the fullness you want and how much hair you head can take lol.  I've always used/bought 8oz, and almost all of it, if not all of the 8oz were used and I have a small head.

I would think using 4oz or so would mean more of your own hair would be left out.

Yeah, I think it depends on the individual. How much hair that person has to start with and what they intend to acheive in tems of volume and length. Also the texture of the hair makes a difference too, curlyy and wavy textures take less hair to acheive the same volume as straight.

4 ounces of 18 inch hair wouldnt be enough for many people. I use 5-7 ounces. And if I use 22 inch length I need minimum 7 ounces.
