I'm a natural blonde but over time, it's darkened so now it's just about a dirty blonde. I'd like to trim and dye it but I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do.

The biggest issue for me is...how do you take care of your roots? I mean, okay...so they grow out...I go get them dyed. But what if the color has faded? How do you keep it vibrant for longer without spending $10 per bottle of shampoo? The place I had my hair done last tried to have me buy some shampoo there but god was it expensive! So not worth it.

I get my roots done every 3 weeks as my hair is naturally quite dark, level 3 and I'm now a platinum blonde. I buy the shampoo at Sally's so it is only about $6.

You might think about having foil highlights so you'd have less of a root problem.
