Hi Everyone,
I'm new here.
I'm completely confused by my hair colour vs skin colour vs tone etc.
I grew up a red-head, although the colour has significantly faded over
the years (I'm 45 now). Growing up a red-head, naturally I thought I
was a "warm" skin tone, but suddenly my stylist has revealed that I'm
a "cool" tone (summer by season). For a lot of years, I tried to find a
store bought red that matched my natural colour and had success.
I usually chose a medium strawberry of some sort.
Over the last year, I've taken to using a light golden blonde. My hair
was getting fairly yellow, and it took me a while to really notice. Now
that I'm realizing I have cool skin tones, I tried an ultra light ash blonde.
The end result has been what I'd say is a fairly neutral light blonde. My
roots are growing in, and the underside of my hair matches them, and
I'd call it a fairly medium ash blonde.
What I'd like to do, is bring the light shade back down to the same level
as the roots and underhair. Is there a way for me to do this with store
bought? I understand that putting an ash on a golden runs the risk of
turning green, and I was lucky that didn't happen last time. I guess I'm
asking for help in turning all my hair the same colour, and I'd like to achieve a neutral medium blonde. Can someone please help?
Maggie
