I also only wash my hair once a week and I really like this shampoo from
Kiehls: http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/hair/shampoos/sunflower-oil-color-preserving-shampoo.htm - http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/hair/shampoos/sunflower-oil-color-preserving-shampoo.htm
I also use VO5 extra body conditioner. I buy it from CVS,
Walgreens. Only use the EBC, no other kind. I use it after I
shampoo, then use the Kiehls conditioner. On the other days when I do not
use the shampoo I just use the VO5 and then the Kiehls Condtioner. Works great
for only 99 cents. You can be generous with it and scrub until it
lathers. Wash and repeat if needed. I work out everyday and it
takes away the sweat and leaves my hair very clean.
You should also use a semi or demi permanent hair color. This type of
color will coat your hair and fill in any gaps that your hairshaft may
have. It is a deposit only type of hair color, so it will not lighten
it. It will also cover some grays, but not the stubborn ones. If
you are into coloring your hair to get the grays out then use a permanent
one. The type of hair dye I like is from the Clairol Professional line
and I buy it from Sallys. I will go with either a 4 or 5 level to match
your hair. I really like this color gloss. This one colors the
grays very nice. It is a semi - so it will begin to wash out after a
month - but oh, boy - the shine you will have!

Love, Love, Love the soy complex line. It is a beautiful hair color collection.
I have highlights, but they were fading a bit and getting too blonde. I
used the 7G and my hair came out very nice. I have a few grays and it did
cover then a bit, but not very well. I usually use the 5nn for myself in
the permanent and that covers gray hair completely. My hair is very soft,
shiny and very healthy looking. The soy
line will also cut down tremendously on frizz.
Overall
between the soy and the color gloss – I like the color gloss better in the semi
line. I just feel that the color gloss
gave my hair more bounce, body, and shine.
To cover my grays though I will only use the soy complex line. What I usually do is cover my roots with the
permanent and then use the gloss on the rest (make sure you wash out the
permanent first). The color gloss is
used on wet hair the permanent is used on dry.
Each day I
use a hair mouse – just an egg size. For
years I have been using this one from Clairol.
I will not use anything else! http://www.amazon.com/Clairol-Condition-Hair-Mousse-Extra/dp/B000O33ZBY - http://www.amazon.com/Clairol-Condition-Hair-Mousse-Extra/dp/B000O33ZBY
I only like
use to use the extra body formula. This
is hard to find in stores so I order a
case of it online. Last me for awhile that’s
for sure – LOL! To finish off my hair
routine I use John Frieda frizz ease.
Just a teeny tiny bit on the ends of my hair. Think pea size. http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/product_detail.asp?productLine=frizz_ease&pid=52 - http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/product_detail.asp?productLine=frizz_ease&pid=52
All of the
products I use on wet hair. I then let
my hair dry naturally except for my bangs – I blow dry then flat iron them. I have pics of my hair in the hair journal
section if you are interested. Hope this
helps for you. Good luck on finding your
good hair day :O)
