Hello.

My daughter is 7 1/2 yrs old, and she is racially mixed. I am caucasian and her father is African American. I have attached a picture of her hair, from the back, and I am hoping by looking at it that at least gives you an idea of what I am dealing with so I can get the best answers possible.

I just need some basic tips on how to take care of her and manage it. The problem is if I keep her hair down, it goes extremely frizzy and poofy and messy looking. It looks as if she rolled out of bed and just went to school without brushing it. Even if we manage to get it looking good down before she leaves, she comes home with it looking like all she did at school was roll around on her head all day. If I put it in a pony tail or two, by the end of the day, she has them either out, or almost out or extremely loose and it looks completely a mess.

Advice would be wonderful.

Thank you!

Angie

I have also been frustrated by the manageability of my childs hair. So I decided to formulate my own all natural hair care lotion for children. If you are interested my name is carmelsprinkles on etsy. The name of the product is called Jelly Beary. This will make a big difference in your childs hair. Be blessed.

Do you use any products on it?

Are you looking to style it or tame it...or both?

Hi there, you might want to try the Take Down Moisture Restoring Hair Lotion.  It is really great for kid with mixed texture hair.

Its not greasy or heavy on the hair either.  Their website is www.takedownproducts.com
