Hey, I'm Asian and my hair is really thick and dark. It's plain black and I've used loads of different hair coloring products on my hair but none work. Some worked but only a tiny bit.
I've tried using henna and it did work, but again, only a hint. I want to dye my hair red/brown-ish and I don't have any more methods. People recommend I bleach my hair but I do NOT want to do that (yet!, at least)
Do any of you know any hair coloring products that I can use for hair like this? It's really hard to dye since it's so dark and thick/rough. Please recommend me some product/s that people like I can use?
BTW, I just tried using the Goldwell permanent hair color (extra light copper gold) and I had it on for like an hour. The result: NOTHING AT ALL!!
HELP!!

Your problem I think is that you need to lift the color before any dye will show. That's why people are suggesting bleach, it may be difficult to lift your very black hair very much with any other method. You can try 40 volume peroxide, but frankly, its a tough call whether that's any less damaging than bleach would be, and it won't lift many levels, so it might not be worth it. Once you get your hair lifted to a dark orange, you would then be able to deposit color on it and have it show. Use a green or blue based color over orange hair to get natural brown shades. If you want reds, they will come out brighter over the bleached hair. Be sure to test strand each step to make sure you get a result you want.
Also, color won't lift color, so if you've put dye in it already, that will need to be removed before you dye again. Try ColorFix or Color Oops. If you've used henna though, unfortunately that stuff doesn't always come out at all, so you may have to wait until the henna part grows out before doing dye. Usually dye just does nothing over henna, it just slips out in a wash or two, even if its permanent, so its probably not worth the extra damage. If its not pure henna, it can also have metals in it that can react badly with dye.
