I have VERY resistant hair.  Years ago Redkin labs analyzed my hair to find that it has only two layers rather than three.  As a result, perms are nearly impossible (I can't comb at all for 48 hours after rods come out or all curl is lost. So I don't get perms)  Color also is very difficult.  Hair is very, very fine and perfectly straight.  Things changed when I let my hair go white - people would stop me to say how pretty it was.  It was still staight but had body if I used Redkin 16 after washing, Rekdin 22 once it was dry and with curlers, and then teasing and hair spray at roots.  Hairstylist decided I needed "tricoe", a detox. My hair is now like that angel hair folks use to put on Christmas trees - fiberglass.  Help!  How do I un-detox!! I've tried oil, no help.

I've never heard of hair detox, so I don't know what she may have done, but if your hair is very thin now, I think all you can do is wait for it to grow out. I wouldn't put any more damaging stuff in it though (meaning dye or perm chemicals or heat styling), you don't want to hit the breakage point. There are products people recommend to help it look better in the meantime, they can't repair it, just kind of disguise it so it looks better by coating it. The L'Anza line is one that was recommended a lot by a stylist here.
