Hi all you Hair-habituates, who among you all, has experienced Computer Imaging?

What is your opinion on it?
Was it helpful?
Would you do it again?
What did it cost you?
Or if you had any friends that have had it done ...what is the general consensis on it?
Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly of it.

Thank's

I live in a small enough town that no one's even heard of it (you know what I'm talking about Sophie---who else loves Michigan?!?!?) I've used Photoshop to create my own alternate hairstyles, but that's about it. Based on this, I think my next big change will be all-over blond highlights.

Sophie, does your salon do this?

I've done it for several folks. I use a photo of the person, my extensive library of style and celebrity pictures, PaintShop Pro, and my own bit o' artistic ability. Usually comes out pretty good. At least good enough to show what the style would look like, if not better than the actual software packages (if I do say so myself). :)

So, why do you ask? Looking to get it done?

JF

Awesome JF...I would love to see some of your work.

Lyris, I've had the program to do it for quite sometime. I attempted to offer it in the Salon as a service. But it took toooooo Much of my time and I really lost patience with it. I found that to sit down with clients...usually not mine....took way too much time away from chair time. And the money I made behind the chair was better....

I just got a new laptop and I decided to move the desk top to the salon. I have a digital camera...so I was thinking what I would be willing to do is take a pic of whoever...load it into the computer, get it lined up and let whoever just play.

ts really easy to try on styles and change colors. And if I or my assistant don't have to sit there with them they could just play and have fun.

What do ya think?

And will you post that Picture for poor Hal, already....lol.

Check my "My hair" post to seeo ne of my many jabs at it =P

I find it very hard, the colour I most want it blonde but it's hard to get it out naturally! Also when colouring the hair it often nearly always looks unnatural because my crappy camera/webcam gets the skin tones all wrong.

I'd love to try on long hair! I tried it on someone else one using a repetitive wavy section but that wouldn't work so well on me.
I love the shape of my hair though.

Clairol's site has a pretty decent program where you can upload a pic of yourself, then try different colors and styles. I had a lot of fun playing with it in the past. You have to sign up, but I don't think I received any more spam than usual as a result. I never put my real name and address on those things.

Okay, okay, you've twisted my arm. Here are a couple of my works though certainly not my best efforts. My hair is really the brown in my avatar.

The highlights look beautiful on you Lyris, but I think the dark hair is even more striking. It brings out your beautiful eyes and skin tone more than the lighter hair.

I've played with the computer imaging on a couple of websites, and on a program I used to have. It's more fun the times it'll let you do the hair like blue or purple or something :-) . I like unnatural anime-like hair :-) . Never had any experience with the results, though, as I've only ever just used them for play, not to decide an actual style to get.
