Anyone have this problem? My hair is pretty dry and damaged from color, but I've never had this before.
I've tried switching shampoos, using clarifying shampoos, using protein treatments, and almost all the obvious things. Still nothing but a sad bit of lather.
I would try shampooing less often to the let the natural oils come back, but I tend to get a very greasy scalp, even with dry shampoo.

clarifying shampoo is not good for damaged hair. Try Aussie Cleanse & Mend it's for greasy roots and dry ends and it's great stuff!! :)

It could be you water source. Either excessive chlorine or hard water. A shower filter really helps, as well as an electronic water conditioner. I installed one in our house and the filter in our master bathroom. They made a big difference. Laying off the ammonia based coloring will also help end your problem. You hair person won't be happy though, they make their money on repeated haircuts (especially with razors), perms and colors. The more they damage it, the more you will pay $$$ to fix the damage.
