First of all I am new to the forum so I just want to say HI!
So here is my question....
I wanted purple highlights in my hair and went to one salon and let them bleach my hair and dye it purple...it turned out terrible because the woman who did it totally put tow mixes of dyes together and turned my hair greyish purple. Neeless to say I was pissed.
So yesterday I went back to a different salon and had my hair redone. They bleached my hair again ( in completely different spots) and put in the purple, when everything was said and done it looked great, I really really loved it.
I took a shower this morning because the woman who styled my hair said to wait a day to shower so the color sets in. I got out of the shower this morning and as I was running my hands through my hair I noticed that the purple was falling out, not just falling out...but SNAPPING as I ran my fingers through my hair. So I just took a purple strand gripped it betweeen my fingers and pulled lightly and what I saw scared the hell out of me....my hair was snapping off! It felt like a dang rubber band between my fingers!
I am so scared that I am going to go bald, am I? This isnt normal is it? Has this happened to anyone else! Please help Im scared!

OMG go back and demand a deep conditioning treatment!! How many days in between were the bleach jobs??? Bleaching is very damaging! Sleep with some conditioner on your had! Extra Virgin Olive Oil helps too! Any conditioner that has protein in it will help your hair or if it says Keratin(which is protein). A nice hot oil treatment too. They should have know better not to over process your hair! That really sucks! And don't use heat on your head for awhile or it will seriously brake off!!!! I have been putting on some deep conditioning treatments in my head for about 2-3 days. Its helping, and getting better. in between bleachings it was about 5 days. But still....I have been putting reconstructing serum in my hair as well. I will try the extra virgin....I was going to but I thought it might make my hair greasy. Will it? Anyway...thanks for the help! I appreciate it!
btw...im OBSESSED with makeup as well! love it!

Yeah, it's because of the bleaching. Definitely use protein treatments followed by moisture treatments. Your hair will improve. The purple will never last -- that's the nature of those kinds of dyes. in the future, just use manic panic or Special FX on those bleached piece and no more bleaching! ------------- Love clip-ins and tape! |
