Hi there. I am in the process of letting my hair grow out and it looks just terrible right now. I had a pretty short cut, flipped up in the back, textured all over. Now I want to grow it out to a bob with texture on the ends, and long layers. But I am stuck in the middle right now... not quite long enough to wear over the ears, but getting too long to push behind them. And the back - complete disaster. Very textured, below the neck line, JUST BAD. Any way - I am going for a haircut tomorrow. I really want to survive this and make it to the bob. Any suggestions on what I can do to make it work???

I went through this last year. I went and bought some Redken 8 hair gel and some wide head bands. from january to may all I did was but the gel in wet and a hairband of whatever color matched and leave it alone. I didn't cut, I just covered it with the cap or did the hairbands. Now it is about 3 inches from my shoulders in the back.

Good Luck!

Jacqui

The best thing to do is to tough it out. My hair now reaches my bra strap and trust me there have been days when I just wanted to cut it. Just get some really nice headbands to hold your hair for now. Trust me in a few monthes it'll be worth it.

Hi Icgirl,

Jacqui and Country Gal have made good suggestions... I did what CG suggested, and I know someone who did as Jacqui did. Another possibility would be to tell your stylist what you want -- to grow your hair to one-length ASAP. The stylist should trim length from the ends that are closest to your shoulders, and leave the layers on top of your head alone.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes for you.
